a young's double plit apparatus is set up. a screen is positioned 1.6 m from the double slits and the spacing between the two slits is 0.04 mm. the distance between alternative bright fringes is 1.42 cm. find the light resourse wavelenght

    the answer is : 3.55 * 10∧-7 m

    Explanation:

    using the formula:-

    delta y = (lambda) (L) / d

    GIVEN THAT;

    delta y = 1.42 cm or 1.42 * 10∧-2

    L = 1.6 m

    d = 0.04 mm or 4 * 10∧-5

    NOW rearranging the formula:-

    wavelength = (delta y) (d) / L

    putting the values;

    wavelength = (1.42 * 10∧-2) (4*10∧-5) / 1.6

    THUS;

    wavelength = 3.55*10∧-7 m
