On a spring break vacation you decide to visit the grand canyon near flagstaff, arizona. then you head south to visit some friends in phoenix, arizona. while on the drive you notice that the temperature is increasing along the route. how do you explain this?

    Flagstaff is a wooded, mountainous, and Alpine town in Northern Arizona, this leads to exposure to crisper mountain winds, snow, and rain. Phoenix on the other hand is an extremely urban, center, located in a desert valley, which literally concentrates heat.
