Which statement is true of a wave that's propagating along the pavement and girders of a suspension bridge? The wave is mechanical, with particles vibrating in a direction that is parallel to that of the wave, forming compressions and rarefactions. The wave is electromagnetic, with particles vibrating in a direction that is parallel to that of the wave, forming compressions and rarefactions. The wave is mechanical, with particles vibrating in a direction that is perpendicular to that of the wave, forming crests and troughs. A suspension bridge is a kind of bridge that is supported by girders in order for it to become stabilized and have a maintained shape. Now, when there is no mechanical energy happening on each ends of the bridge, the tendency is for it to collapse. That’s why the mechanical energy that is found in between the bridge is the one causing it to become compressed and sturdy in its position.
