Why do many species that existed 35 million years ago no longer exist

There are several reasons for the extinction of species. Some of these can include climate change, natural disasters, environmental destruction, or over-hunting. All of these factors can contribute to the deaths of various animals which ultimately leads to extinction if left unchecked.
