a motor pulls up a block suspended on a string, so that the tension in the string is equal to the qeight force on the block. the block has mass m, the distance raised is h and the power output of the motor is P. what is the magnitude of the acceleration of the block?

    Let T be the tension in the string and mg is the weight of the block.

    T = mg

    By using Newton's second law

    T - mg = ma

    mg - mg = ma

    a = 0

    Thus, the acceleration is zero.
