    The answer:

    the field lines of the magnetosphere farther apart on the side of Earth facing away from the sun Because of the solar wind (the corona) which is released from the upper atmosphere of the Sun. it is a stream of charged particles. This plasma consists of alpha particles electrons, and protons. And has a kinetic energy between 0.5 and 10 keV. This solar wind which is ionized is distorting the Earth's field so this affected the field lines of the magnetosphere farther apart on the side of Earth facing away from the sun.
