    B. On a sunny day, the air over a lake will be cooler than the air over the bordering land.

As water heats up slowly than land, during daytime when the air over land heats by mostly by radiated heat from the Earth's surface, the air over a lake is relatively cooler as the lake is relatively cooler than earth, as it gets heated up by the Sun's heat at a slower rate than land.
