If you drop a small stone and a cotton ball of the same size from a height, the stone lands first. This can be explained by "Lighter bodies fall slower because of the resistance due to the air"

    Explanation:

When a lighter body and a heavier body is dropped from the same height in vacuum both reaches the ground at the same time. This is due to the unavailability of air in vacuum.

Whereas this is not the case in our environment. Here the air acting on the body decreases its speed and for a heavier body the resistance will be lesser than for a lighter body.

Therefore, a small stone will reach the ground faster than that of a cotton ball.
