In designing buildings to be erected in an area prone to earthquakes, what relationship should the designer try to achieve between the natural frequency of the building and the typical earthquake frequencies?

    In some areas that are prone to earthquakes, it is vital for the designer to achieve the relationship in between the natural frequency of the building and the typical earthquake frequencies. The natural frequencies of the building should be very different from the typical earthquake frequencies. It should have a very huge difference.
