List the TWO main parts (or components) that need to be included in a basic electric motor in order for it to function correctly. This question pertains to only the motor itself and not anything the motor is running. This is a short answer response.

    The main parts of an electric motor include the stator and rotor, a series of gears or belts, and bearings to reduce friction. DC motors also need a commutator to reverse current direction and keep the motor spinning.
