Molar heat of fusion for water: 6.01 kj/mol. (heat required for phase change)

0.3 kg of ice = 300 grams. (Convert this to moles).

300/18 (molar mass of water) = 16.67 moles of water

    6.01 x 16.67 = 100.3 Kj of heat.
