Describe how the ringing sound of a telephone travels from the phone to your ear?

    So we want to know how does the ringing sound travels from a telephone to the ear. Sound waves are mechanical waves of pressure that propagate trough the air from the source in all directions. When they reach the ear they change the pressure in the ear by the rate that is dictated by the frequency of the sound emitted by the source. And our brain recognizes that as sound.
