Two objects attract each other gravitationally. if the distance between their centers decreases by a factor of 2, how does the gravitational force between them change

    F = Gm1m2 / r^2

    if the masses are doubled then the force is increased by a factor of 4

    if the distance is doubled the force is decreased by a factor of 1 / 2^2

    the net result is no change in force
