A student throws a baseball upwards at an angle of 60 degrees to the horizontal. The initial horizontal and vertical components are 12.5 m/s and 21.7 m/s, respectively.

    Vertical component (Vv) = 21.7 m/s,

    The magnitude of throw/resultant velocity (V) = ?

    The resultant velocity / the velocity with which ball is throws is determined by the following equation

    V = √[ (Vh) ² + (Vv) ²]

    = √[ (12.5) ² + (21.7) ²]

    = 25.04 m/s

    The resultant velocity or the velocity with which the ball is thrown is 25 m/s
