Say flat (ballerina style) shoes were good to wear in a lab, why would they be the best compared to trainers and high heels in terms of friction?

    High heels have limited area of contact and provide minimum friction on a flat surface and therefore low grip, trainers provide extra firm grip dupe to having edges and grooves to provide increased resistance, a flat shoe will have optimum friction and provide for comfortable walking with a right amount of grip.
