You must raise the weight to a height of 10 meters. You cannot do it! Thinking back to what you have learned in science class, you set up the pulley you see here. How does using this pulley reduce the force needed to lift the weight 10 meters? A) Using the pulley reduces the force in half and you use 50 N to move the weight. B) If you use the pulley and move the weight 10 meters, then the force needed is 10 N. C) The amount of force stays the same; the direction changes. You pull down to move something up. D) The amount of force is reduced by one half and the direction changes. You pull down with less force to move something up.
