    It is called Grounding.

    Explanation:

Grounding is the connecting of a part of any appliance or objects to prevent an undesired flow of current that is susceptible to carry it. It is the process of connecting the body to the earth (i. e. ground) by making a physical connection or connecting to a conductor that extends the ground connection. As we know that earth acts as a reservoir-sink for the electrical charges and theoretically, it can absorb them all. So, we connect the undesired conducting parts of the appliances to the ground so that the charge from that particular part flows to the ground.
