    B) solutes

Solutes are the things that are dissolved. Solvents are what you dissolve things in (our solvent in this question is gasoline). Solutions are what you get from dissolving solutes in solvents. Sometimes your solutes are solids but in this case if doesn't specify and if it doesn't say, it's probably wrong.

    Answer: B) Solutes

    Explanation:

Binary solution is a homogeneous mixture of two components called as solute and solvent.

Solute is the component which is present in smaller proportion and is solid for solid in liquid solution and solvent is the component which is present in larger proportion.

If a liquid is dissolved in a liquid, it is called as emulsion.

If a solid is dissolved in a liquid, it is called as solid solution.

Thus gasoline being in larger quantity and cleaning or anti knock additives in smaller quantities, they are respectively termed as solvent and solute.
