    c. 5.50 km

    Explanation:

    8 min * 1h / (60 min) = 8/60 = 2/15 h

    15 sec * 1 min/60 sec = 1/4 min * 1h / (60 min) = 1/240 h

    8 min 15 sec = (2/15+1/240) h

    40 km/h * (2/15 + 1/240) h = 5.50 km
