On earth, a closed box weighs 56.84 n. what would the mass of the box be on the moon?

    =5.8 kg, same as the mass on the earth's surface

    Explanation;

    The gravitational force on the earth surface is 9.8 N/kg

    Therefore; a box weighing 56.84 N will have a mass of;

    = 56.84 / 9.8

    =5.8 kg

    The box weighs 5.8 kg on the earth surface.

    On the moon's surface the box would still weigh 5.8 kg, this is because the mass of an object or a substance is constant everywhere.

    -Mass of a body is constant or remains the same everywhere irrespective of the gravitational force, unlike the weight which varies depending on the pull of gravity of a place.
