Two lumps of clay having equal masses and speeds, but traveling in opposite directions, collide and stick together. Part A Which of the following statements about this system of lumps must be true?

    velocity is u

    By use of conservation of momentum

    m x u - m x u = (m + m) x v

    v = 0

    So, they stick together and comes to rest.
