    It is non polar ... as polar dissolve polar ... like dissolve like! so A must be non polar.

    Water molecule has dipole moment because H and O have electronegative differences. Solubility is only possible if boty substances (solute and solute) are like i. e either both must be polar or non-polar. So substance A will not dissolve because it is non-polar whereas water is polar molecule.
