Why is having a scientific model of an Atom important

    I believe it is because that it allows us to refer back to the model when not only if new information concerning the structure of the atom is obtained but also, allows for one to have a stronger understanding of how molecules and other atoms can behave in reactions and processes if the structure of the atom, based on the models are known.
