Progressing from short wavelengths to long wavelengths, scientists have identified gamma rays, x-rays, ultraviolet light, visible light (between 400 and 700 nanometers), infrared (heat), microwaves, and radio waves. Short wavelengths have more energy per photon than long wavelengths.
