Two tugs are pulling a barge. If one pulls with 20000 Newtons of force at the angle of 45 degrees to the left, from one side of river, what force should the other tug pull from the other side of the river that is 30 degrees to the right to keep the barge going straight?

    T2 = 16327.5 N

    Explanation:

    T1 cos (25) = T2 cos (65)

    200000 cos (45) = T2 cos (30)

    T2 = 20000 x cos (45) / cos (30) = 16327.5 N
