    This is positive reinforcement, positive being that they’re giving him something instead of taking something away. (You can have negative reinforcement where they are encouraging a behaviour by taking something away. Taking away homework for the night, for example.) It’s reinforcement because it is trying to convince Simon to keep up the good behaviour.
