Gravitational potential Energy change of the ball after, 10m = 98J

    Explanation:

A 1 kg ball is dropped from the top of a cliff and falls with a constant acceleration due to gravity (9.8 m/s2). Assume that effects of air resistance can be ignored. a.) By how much has the ball's gravitational potential energy changed after it has fallen by 10 m

Gravitational Potential Energy: This is the energy a body posses by virtue of it's position in a gravitational field. It is measured in Joules.

    Gravitational potential Energy = Mass (m) * acceleration due to gravity (g) * Height (h) = mgh

    Where m = 1kg, g = 9.8 m/s², h = 10 m

    ∴ Gravitational potential Energy change of the ball after, 10m = 1 * 9.8 * 10 = 98 J
