"Gravitation" is a property of space and mass that causes a pair of forces
between every two specks of mass anywhere. The forces are equal, their
strength depends on the amount of mass in both masses and the distance
between them, and the forces act in the direction to pull the masses together.
The word was adopted by Sir Isaac Newton to describe this phenomenon.
