    In other words, insulators inhibit or impede the easy passage of electrons from atom to atom and molecule to molecule. Therefore, if an electric charge is transferred to an insulator, the particles present in this material will not permit the free flow of electrons.

    However, if the insulator is taken out the electrons will be free to move and flow throgh the circuit.
