6. Knowing that the severity of a shock depends on the magnitude of the current through your body, would you prefer to be in series or parallel with a resistance, such as the heating element of a toaster, if shocked by it? Explain.

    I would like to be in parallel with a resistance because, the degree of current flow varies with the resistance in a parallel circuit (Having it's formula to be I = I1 + I2 + I3 + I4 ..., that is, I = V/R1 + V/R2 + V/R3 + V/R4) in contrast with the series circuit that has a constant current value "I" flowing through it

    In series the resistance of combination is large, so if the resistance is more, the current will be less and we will have less shock.

    In parallel, the combined resistance is less than the individual resistances so the current is more and we will have more shock.

    So we should prefer series connection
