The electric force on two charges, Q1 and Q2, that are separated by a distance d is given by F. if you increase their distance to 5d, what is the electric force?

    Explanation: The electro static force between 2 charges follows an inverse square law.

    F1 * (d1) ² = F2 * (d2) ²

    From the question, F1 = F, d1 = d and d2 = 5d, we are to find F2

    F*d² = F2 * (5d) ²

    F*d² = F2 * 25d²

    F2 = F * d²/25d²

    F2 = F / 25
