What is necessary to accelerate a 70-kg object at a rate of 4.2m/s2?

    Two things are necessary:

    - - a 70-kg object

    - - a net force of 294 newtons acting on the object.

    (That's the product (70 x 4.2), because Force = mass times acceleration.)
