Then the radiation is emitted to the entire electromagnetic spectrum and while this happens, solar particles such as neutrons, protons and heavy nuclei heat up and accelerate in the Sun's atmosphere. If the eruption is large, it has the potential to emit up to 1032 erg of energy per second.
