The initial vertical component of the velocity is 15.3 m/s and the angle of the water is 55 degrees. What is the magnitude of the vector?

The answer is 18.7 m/s but how did they get this?

    The vertical component of velocity is given by

    V = Vy x Sin (Theta)

    15.3 m/s = Vy x Sin (55 degrees)

    Vy = 15.3 m/s/Sin (55 degrees)

    = 15.3 m/s/0.819

    = 18.681 m/s
