A mixture is a substance consisting of two or more substances mixed together. A mixture can be homogeneous, meaning a mixture that is the same through out and evenly mixed. A homogeneous mixture can be a mixture of salt and water or isopropyl alcohol and water. A mixture can also be heterogeneous, meaning a mixture made up of more than one phase or of different parts and can be separated physically. A heterogeneous mixture can be a tossed salad or a bowl of raisin bran cereal.
