How many neutrons does element x have if it's atomic number is 34 and it's mass number is 76

    Atomic number is the number of protons in an element. Mass number is the sum of both protons and neutrons. Thus, if you subtract 34 from 76 you'll get the number of neutrons in said element.

    76 - 34 = 42 neutrons
