Using hookes law what happens when the displacement is tripled?

    Hooke's law stated that the Force (F) exerted to compress or elongate an object to a distance (D) is proportional to that distance (D) where a certain proportionality constant, k, also known as hooke's constant is accounted for. In this case, if the displacement is tripled, the force required will also be tripled.
