Consider a plane that flies due east on a trip, and then returns due west following the same exact route. Imagine also that there are no winds in each trip. Flying due east, the plane flies with the rotation of the Earth, while flying due west it flies against the rotation. Will the flight times be the same? Different? Why?

    Explanation:

    A plane that flies due east and in return flies due west following the exact same path. But the condition is there are no winds. Since, there are no wind the speed of travel of plane remains same irrespective of the direction of flight. Now since speed and distance are same (follows the same route), the time of flight will be also same. By same speed equal distances are traveled in equal time
