A square coil, enclosing an area with sides 3.5 cm long, is wrapped with 2,526 turns of wire. A uniform magnetic field perpendicular to its plane is turned on and increases to 0.27 T during an interval of 1.9 s. What average voltage (in V) is induced in the coil? -0.44 N

    Explanation:

    Applying,

    E = - (BANsinФ) / t ... Equation 1

    Where E = E. m. f induced in the coil, B = magnetic field A = Area of the coil, N = Number of turns, Ф = angle between the field an the plane, dt = change in time.

    Given: N = 2526 turns, B = 0.27 T, t = 1.9 s, Ф = 90° (perpendicular)

    A = Area of a square = L² = 0.035² = 1.225*10⁻³ m²

    Substitute into equation 1

    E = - 0.27 (2526) (1.225*10⁻³) (sin90°) / 1.9

    E = - 0.44 N
