    Explanation:

    The lunar eclipse happens when the Earth comes between the moon and the Sun, blocking the light falling on the moon. It occurs on a full moon. On the other hand, a solar eclipse occurs when the moon comes between the Earth and the Sun, blocking the sunlight falling on Earth. It occurs on new moon day. For each to occur, the three bodies must be aligned in straight line. As the orbital plane of the moon is not exactly aligned to that of the Earth, the eclipses do not occur every month.
