A concave lens is a lens made from 2 spheres and it curves inwards. It is also known as diverging lens. It is called diverging lens because any ray falling on its surface is refracted and emerges on the other side been diverged.

The other type of a lens that curves outwards and converges light is called convex lens.

In this question the correct answer is:

    A. A concave lens diverges light and curves inward.
