    16.17 rad/s

    Explanation:

    tangential speed (v) = 9.7 m/s

    distance from the athletes axis (r) = 0.6 m

    find his angular speed

    angular speed = ω/r

    angular speed = 9.7/0.6 = 16.17 rad/s
