Why is the Big Bang a theory and not a fact

    Because it has not been proven. We have no evidence that the big bang happened.

    Because we do not yet have enough proof. The Big Bang (theoretically) happened over 10 billion years ago, and as of now we are not sure of what really happened, but we can be quite sure.
