If you had 8 basketballs and 1 of them weighed more than the others but you didn't know which one it was, you have a basic 2 sided scale but you can only use it twice, how do you find the ball that weights the most?

Split them into three groups of three, three, then two. weight the two groups of three against each other. If equal, then you have to weigh the group of two to find the heavier. If one group of three is heavier, pick two out of the three to compare them and find the heaviest.
