    At maximum height all of the springs energy is converted to potential energy that is (PE) of the toy at maximum height

    PE=mgh and therefore h=PE/mg

    where g is accerelation due to gravity which is 9.8m / sec squared

    h=0.20/9.8 x0.010=2.04metres is the maximum height

    Work done by the child = 0.20 J

    Mass of the toy m = 0.010 kg

    g = 9.8 m/s

    Work is that is potential energy because it is at maximum height, PE = m x g x h

    0.20 = 0.010kg x 9.8m/s x h = > 0.2 = 0.098 x h = > h = 0.2 / 0.098 = > h =

    2.040

    The maximum vertical height h = 2.0 mts
