    a) Force on the 2 nd charge by first charge

    = k q₁ x q₂ / d²

    = 9 x 10⁹ x 5 x 1 / 2² = 11.25 x 10⁹ N it will be attractive and towards negative x direction

    b) Similarly, force on 2 nd charge by 3 rd charge

    = 9 x 10⁹ x 2 x 1 / 1² = 18 x 10⁹.

it will act towards + ve x - direction.

    c) Net force = 18 x 10⁹ - 11. 25 x 10⁹ = 6.75 x 10⁹ N. It will act towards + ve x-direction.
