A ship, carrying freshwater to a desert island in the caribbean, has a horizontal cross-sectional area of 2850 m2 at the waterline. when unloaded, the ship rises 9.50 m higher in the sea. how much water was delivered?

    Assuming a rectangular shaped prism, so the formula for volume is simply:

    Volume = length * width * height

    We know that length * width is also the cross section area therefore:

    Volume = area * height

    Volume = 2850 m^2 * 9.50 m

    Volume = 27,075 m^3
