Calcium, gold, iron, and sodium are all different kinds of metals. As a metal, they all share the common tendency of donating valence electrons instead of receiving them. Properties can either be physical or chemical, with physical being the color, size, texture. Chemical properties can be reactivity with water, or any other solvent.
