A motorcycle uses 50 000 kilojoules per minute. If 15 percent of the 15 energy generated by its engine is lost in the first few seconds, how much energy, in kilojoules, remains to power the motorcycle?

    Knowing that 15% of the energy is lost, we can deduced that only 85% of the energy supplied remained. Thus, the energy needed to power the motorcycle is only 85% of the 50000J. Solving for the 85% of 50,000 J is 42,500J.
