In the early 16th century, Copernicus published the astronomical manuscript that he had been working on for 16 years. The publication revolutionized astronomy by changing people's view of the Universe as it took the heliocentric approach, and showed that earth was not the center of the universe neither did all other planets orbit around the earth as previously believed. Rather, the sun was at the center of the Solar system, and the stars were much further away than previously thought.
